This issue features Art Cairo’s 1950 Mercury Monterey – a true “Cairo Family Car!” Van Nazarian provides an excellent pictorial of Hal Spambaugh’s antique service station, and Bill Gipperich describes the club’s first publication. Overnighter a Wonderful Event!
The 2011 FMRCOA Overnighter was held Labor Day Weekend in Chesaning, Michigan. Thirty-four club members and guests shared a fun-filled outing. Thanks go to Hank & Janet Dawson for setting this event up! Details can be found in the September Rotunda Times and in a video of the event.
Dearborn '11 A Success!
Our annual swap meet and car show at athe Wayne County Fairgrounds in Belleville, Michigan on July 16-17, 2011 was very successful! You can read about it in our July newsletter. Van Nazarian has also provided us with great photos of Dearborn '11!
Club Members Participate in Summer Events
On June 12 a large contingent of club members attended the Barn Show in Livonia and won numerous awards for their rides. For more detail, please see the June Rotunda Times or watch the video.
On June 20 several club members, together with Livingsto County Model A Restorers Club members, transported distinguished guests at the University of Michigan. For more detail, please see the June Rotunda Times or watch the video.
On July 8 several FMRCOA attended the 17th Ann Arbor Rolling Sculptures Car Show. The streets of Ann Arbor are closed for this event and several hundred cars roll in! The event is covered in our July newsletter and in the video below.
Member Interviewed by Tailfins & Chrome
Club member Larry Pyzik, whose 1936 Ford Roadster was featured in the March issue of the Rotunda Times, was recently interviewed by the TV show Tail Fins and Chrome. The interview can be seen here. 
The Rotunda Times Wins a 2010 Golden Quill Award from Old Cars Weekly
The editorial staff of the Rotunda Times is proud to announce that our newsletter won a 2010 Golden Quill Award from Old Cars Weekly. This is the fourth consecutive year that we won a Golden Quill Award! 
2010 Year in Review Video Uploaded
The video that was played at the dinner dance has been uploaded and can be viewed online. It summarizes many of the club's major activities in 2010.
Dinner Dance a Spectacular Event!

Roxanne Fontana Wins Generator Award
At the dinner dance Roxanne Fontana was awarded the FMRCOA's prestigious Generator Award! The Generator Award goes to the club member "judged by the Board of Directors to have contributed the most to the club during the previous year." Congratulations Roxanne!
FMRCOA Club Members Start a Rat Rod
On January 24, 2011 six members of our club helped your webmaster start his Rat Rod. This camaraderie and mutual help is the true meaning of a great car club! Please see our 90 second video!
New Board Members Elected
Hank Dawson and Tim Pusilo were recently elected to the FMRCOA Board of Directors. We also thank outgoing board members Mike Fontana and Art Cairo for their contributions.
The Harman & Collins Dual Point Distributor
At our club meeting on December 1, 2010 . Phil Lyon described the Harman & Collins dual-point distributor that was used on Ford flathead V8 engines prior to 1949.

Informal Breakfast for FMRCOA Club members
Some of our members go to breakfast every Saturday morning at
the Ram's Horn located at the NW corner of Rochester Road and Hamlin
Road across from Bordine's Nursery. This is north and east of Auburn
Road. If the weather is nice we usually have quite a few antiques
and hot rods. Members usually show up from 6am until 9am.
