2009 FMRCOA Swap Meet & Car
Show - July 18-19
It's
not too early to register for our annual swap meet and car show, Dearborn
'09. The event takes place on July 18-19
at the Wayne County Fairgrounds. Event details, contact
info, and registration forms and instructions are available on
the Dearborn
'09 page. If you've never attended our swap meet,
check out pictures and
video of
last year's swap meet and car show. It was great!
FMRCOA Newsletter
The June
Rotunda Times is available. You'll want to read about Mike
Riemenschneider's 1968 Shelby GT500KR convertible, the June garage
crawl, Art Cairo joining the FMRCOA Board, Phil Lyon winning
an award at Billet Proof 2009, the Crosspointe Cruise-In, tips
on charging batteries, postcards from the past, classifieds,
and more!
Troy Garage Crawl Photos
On June 13 over 60 FMRCOA members were treated to
an outstanding garage crawl organized by Brian Saylor
in the Troy, Michigan area. Our first stop was at Classic & Exotic
Service, then Brothers Custom, next was Masterworks Automotive
Services, and finally club member Jerry Mattson's garage. Find
out more about the garage crawl in the June
Rotunda Times. Brian took some great photos at the
various locations. Check them out in the
Event Photos section.
New Location for Monthly Club Meetings
Our monthly club meetings will now be at St.
Mary’s Cultural Center at 18100 Merriman Rd in Livonia
between 6 and 7 Mile Roads. This is the beautiful facility where
we have held the last several dinner dances. Moreover, it has
a extremely large parking lot enabling club cars to be easily
parked together (and the food is good!). Meetings will continue
to be on the first Wednesday of each month and will begin at
7:30 PM. At the June meeting, however, we will hold our annual
mini swap meet so please plan to come early to buy/sell stuff!
And do bring a friend!
The Rotunda Times Wins the Golden Quill Award!
For the second year in a row, FMRCOA's monthly newsletter, The
Rotunda Times, has been named a winner of the 2008 Old
Cars Weekly Golden Quill Award in the National division.
Take a moment and read
the Golden Quill article at Old Cars Weekly. I think
you'll agree, The Rotunda Times is one of the best
newsletters around! Congratulations to the entire FMRCOA club,
editor Steve Rohde, and all the authors that contribute articles
each month...way to go!!

Informal Breakfast for FMRCOA Club members
Some of our members go to breakfast every Saturday morning at
the Ram's Horn located at the NW corner of Rochester Road and Hamlin
Road across from Bordine's Nursery. This is north and east of Auburn
Road. If the weather is nice we usually have quite a few antiques
and hot rods. Members usually show up from 6am until 9am.
